The importance of funding, access to markets and the impact of technology in entrepreneurship will be at the top of the list at this year’s eKasiLab Summit.
eKasiLabs, part of the Innovation Hub, targets innovators in townships in and around the Gauteng province.
This organisation is the provincial governments’ innovation vehicle, through which innovative entrepreneurship is used as an agent for job creation and economic development.
With the theme ‘Innovation for Economic Growth’ the event will be held on the 13 November 2018 at eKasiLab Mamelodi, Tshwane North TVET College Mamelodi Campus, 19403 Serapeng Rd East.
eKasiLabs currently has more than 200 incubates from 10 sites in the townships in the province.
This organisation has provided support to these aspiring entrepreneurs which includes financial assistance, training and business support.
This is to support people who don’t have the resources to get their businesses off the ground.
The summit will engage ways in which township-based entrepreneurs and start-ups alike can best exploit technology in their business practices for better impact.
The event is also in line with Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) which takes place from 13 to 22 November.
This is the world's largest celebration of innovations and job creators who launch start -ups that bring ideas to life, drive economic growth, and expand human welfare.
GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self-starters and innovators.
The Innovation Hub will join 25 million people across 15 000 networks in 160 countries to celebrate innovators, entrepreneurs and researchers who contribute to the developmental landscape of the world.
In line with this, the Innovation Hub has scheduled activities dedicated to creating platforms for collaboration, networking and for honouring players whose work supports and cultivates the innovation ecosystems.
Entry to the event is free and if you would like to attend the Summit make sure that you reserve a seat by sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
