Occupational therapy vital in recovery

The Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital’s (RCWMCH) occupational therapy (OT) team has developed the Four Thoughts for Change to assist its patients’ parents and caregivers.

OT helps people with health challenges to better participate in daily life and plays a vital role in the treatment and recovery of various medical conditions and severe trauma, such as burns or car accidents.

Life after a stroke

Stroke victims must be taken to hospital as soon as possible.

People who have a stroke can make a full recovery if they are taken to hospital as soon as possible, follow their treatment plan and start living a healthy lifestyle.

A stroke happens when a blood vessel in the brain is clogged (ischemic stroke) or bursts (haemorrhagic stroke), leading to damage in the brain.
