Conza’s Biscuits selling like hotcakes

What started off as a small family business meant to put food on the table for a mother and two daughters, is slowly growing to becoming a household name in the biscuit-making business.

The Soweto family-owned Conza’s Biscuits was established in 2004 by single mother Constance Chauke who started selling biscuits after she was unable to finance her daughter’s university education. At the time, it had been two years since her daughter completed high school.

Beware of human Trafficking

The South African Police Service has warned citizens to not fall prey to being human trafficked. 

Human trafficking is a criminal offence in terms of the Prevention and Combating of Trafficking in Persons Act, 7 of 2013. 

The offence involves the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harbouring, selling, exchange, lease, or receipt of another person within or across the borders of South Africa under false pretences and for exploitation purposes.

For the past 19 years, the newspaper has been disseminating information that empowers the public to participate in government programmes, and it was available on hard copy and online.

Partnership with business shows that we are better together

The partnership was established in June 2023 to tackle the electricity supply crisis, the severe challenges in freight rail and port operations, and crime and corruption. World skills South Africa Conference

Our nation’s skills development is charted by the National Skills Development Plan which prioritises improving education and training. It sets forth specific targets such as the training of 30 000 artisans annually by 2030. 

Silapha Wellness Programme saves lives

The Minister for Sport, Arts and Culture, Zizi Kodwa, has encouraged all South African creatives and athletes to register for free counselling and support through the Silapha Wellness Programme.

The programme was initiated in 2022 to support artists and athletes with critical access to well-being support. 

It provides those in the creative and sporting industries access to a 24/7/365 call centre for counselling and support services.

Umalusi awards accreditation certificates

Umalusi awarded accreditation certificates to 54 successful institutions at an Accreditation Forum and Certificate Award Ceremony recently held in Pretoria.

 The event was organised to award accreditation certificates to 54 institutions (50 independent schools and four private colleges) that met Umalusi’s accreditation criteria to offer qualifications that are registered on the General and Further Education and Training Qualifications Sub-framework.
