LETTER TO THE EDITOR

Letter

Dear Vuk’uzenzele

My name is Sibusiso Maimela from Soshanguve Block TT. I am writing with a heavy heart about the lack of support from community leaders who continue to fail the youth in our area by not providing opportunities such as skills development programmes. This lack of exposure is contributing to an uncertain and unstable future for many young people.

I am reaching out for assistance, not only for myself but also to inspire my peers and show them that they are destined for greatness. I am currently running a small business as a potato supplier, but I am struggling due to limited income and a lack of proper knowledge on how to grow and sustain the business effectively. I need guidance on funding opportunities and mentorship, as well as information on how to access educational and development support.

I firmly believe that we can change the narrative and prove that young people from townships can become successful business owners and farmers. However, we need the right support structures to do so.

I kindly request assistance with information on where to apply for funding, mentorship, and relevant opportunities that can help me and others like me build sustainable businesses and brighter futures.

Yours faithfully

Sibusiso Maimela
